What information do we gather and collect? – We gather and collect information in two ways: (1) directly (for example, when you provide information to sign up for a newsletter or apply for a job); and (2) indirectly (for example, through our site’s technology, such as downloading our content, such as a white-paper document).

How do we use information that we collect from the site? We use personal data to provide you with information you request, process online job applications, and for other purposes which we would describe to you at the point where it is collected or which will be obvious to you. For example:

  • To fulfill your requests for white papers, articles, newsletters or other content
  • For surveys or research questionnaires
  • To personalize your site experience
  • To contact you for marketing purposes where you have agreed to this.

We analyze your IP and browser information to determine what is most effective about our site, to help Columbus identify ways to improve it and, eventually, to determine how we can tailor our site to make it more effective for visitors.

Will we sell or share your personal data with outside parties? We do not sell personal data to any third parties. We generally only share personal data with our contracted service providers and advisors. However, there will be other times when we need to share or disclose personal data you provide for a specific purpose, for example:

  • We may need to disclose your personal data to third parties in the event that we sell or liquidate any part of our business or assets;
  • We will disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms of Use; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Columbus Consulting International LLC, our clients, or others.

What about sensitive personal data? – We do not generally seek to collect sensitive personal data through this site. In the limited cases where we do seek to collect such data, we will do this in accordance with local data privacy law requirements. If you choose to provide us with unsolicited sensitive personal data, you consent to our using the data, subject to applicable law as described in this privacy policy. The term “sensitive personal data” refers to the various categories of personal data identified by United States and other data privacy laws as requiring special treatment, including in some circumstances the need to obtain explicit consent. These categories may include personal identity numbers, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious, philosophical or other similar beliefs, membership of a trade union or profession or trade association, physical or mental health, biometric or genetic data, sexual life, or criminal record (including information about suspected criminal activities).

What about data security? – We take appropriate steps to maintain the security of personal data collected via Columbus Consulting LLC’s site. However, you should be aware that the open nature of the Internet allows information and personal data to flow over networks connecting you to our systems without security measures and may be accessed and used by people other than those for whom the data is intended. We can’t control data outside of our website.

Our website may, from time to time, contain links to and from the sites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates, all of which are considered unrelated third-parties. If you follow a link to any of these sites, please note that these sites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or sites. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these sites.

Where will your personal data be processed? – Currently, our Website is administered and maintained in the State of Ohio, U.S.A.

Your rights – You are entitled to know whether we store or maintain personal data about you and, if we do, to have access to that personal data and require it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. You can exercise your right to prevent marketing communications sent to you by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your personal data. You can also make changes to your information, exercise the right to discontinue marketing communications to you at any time by using our Contact Us form or by replying “unsubscribe” if the marketing communication is the form of an email.

Job Search Area – In our job search section, we post open job positions; applicants can apply online for potential opportunities. Should you decide to apply for a position on our website, your resume, bio, cover letter and any other document you submit will be entered into Columbus Consulting International LLC’s proprietary database. To update a resume for any job inquiry you have submitted, please apply again through the job search section, and resubmit your updated information. Due to volume, timing, and availability, Columbus Consulting International LLC cannot respond to individual requests for application status.
