Boutique Consulting Firm, Columbus Consulting, Announces the Launch of an Expert POS/Store Systems Team

Columbus Consulting International today announced that retail industry veteran and CCI partner, Lynn Hughes will be leading a new business team within Columbus Consulting. The team will be dedicated to auditing, sourcing, implementing and transforming Point of Sale and Store Systems for the retail community. Post pandemic retail has not only changed how retailers need to operate, but how consumers interface and transact with brands in general. The evolution from brick and mortar to multi-channel to omni-channel and now unified commerce has created new, more complex system needs for retailers.

“The point of sale system has become the hub for omni-transformation, serving as a transactional system, an inventory system and a management tool. What worked even 5 years ago is no longer valid for sustainable growth as retailers enter a meta-future;” commented business lead, Lynn Hughes.

“Columbus is driving the retail industry forward, delivering strategic transformations and quick win solutions to our customers.  Our 300+ clients count on our retail and technical expertise to advise on the best ways to run their companies. Our consultants are experienced retailers bringing their know-how to each project and Lynn is no exception.  You will find no one more passionate, knowledgeable, positive and driven to help their clients as Lynn.  We look forward to her leading this marketplace initiative for our brand;” said Jon Beck, CCI CEO.

Why now?

With 24/7 shopping, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment options and other innovations like those by Amazon such as Amazon Go, Amazon Pay and now Amazon One (palm scan payment), not to mention the emerging Metaverse and what 3-dimensional shopping and crypto/virtual currency will bring, modern POS systems need to be revisited. Stores are being used as fulfillment centers and visibility to available inventory has never been more in demand. Add on customer UX, loyalty and promotional programs, the point of sale platform is the new retail center of the universe.
