Biography

Tom Harden is a Partner with Columbus Consulting where he assists clients in bringing together Strategy, Merchandise Analytics, and Profit-based Processes and Systems in the multi-channel world of Wholesale, Store, Catalog, E-commerce, and International retailing. He brings over 10 years of retail consulting experience and over 20 years of retail executive experience with deep domain in Merchandise Planning & Allocation, Multi-Channel Strategy and Operations, Information Technology, Manufacturing and Sourcing and Supply Chain Management.

Prior to joining Columbus, Tom was EVP/COO at Lands’ End Direct Merchants. He also led the Merchandise Planning and Allocation team at American Eagle Outfitters, was SVP of Supply Chain at Dick’s Sporting Goods, EVP/COO at Send.com (a dot com start-up) and EVP at L. L. Bean where he also served on the Board of Directors. Tom spent almost 10 years at The Limited Brands where he was VP of Merchandise Planning and Allocation, and led IT at Express and Limited Stores divisions. He also led a team that developed Merchandise Supply Chain Applications for all Limited retail divisions. Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors for Lee Auto Malls.

Relevant Experience

  • Requirements definition for Allocation system and process for an off-price retailer.
  • Evaluated multi-channel forecasting and replenishment options and completed migration roadmap for a specialty retailer.
  • Developed a multi-channel roadmap and selected and implemented systems to support for a specialty retailer.
  • E-Commerce system migration for global brand.
  • Developed and refined the retail market penetration strategy for a customer analytics tools provider.
  • Charming Charlie; provided interim E-commerce leadership.
  • Vineyard Vines; Provided two-year interim leadership for the retail business unit including; strategy development, financial modeling, and systems selection/implementation. Continuing executive advisory consulting.
